MEXA just obtained confirmation from Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
The Interim Economic Partnership Agreement (IEPA) will be in force as from Monday 14th May 2012. As you are aware, the Cotonou Agreement ended in December 2007 and was replaced by the Market Access 1528.
Market Access 1528 was implemented on a temporary basis to avoid trade disruption, until the IEPA comes in force.
After four years of negotiation, the IEPA is now being implemented.
Please note that the IEPA trade provisions apply only to the four signatories countries of the ESA region which have signed the IEPA, including, Madagascar, Seychelles, Zimbabwe and Mauritius.
The EUR1 certificate will be amended accordingly to reflect the IEPA Trade Agreement. Customs is doing needful.
