In order to facilitate foreign investment, the Government of Mauritius has provided a series of incentives. They are:
Entering Mauritius for Business
Different visa options are offered to non-citizens travelling to Mauritius to enter the country namely Tourist visa, Business visa, Multiple Entry visa and Transit visa.

Business Registration
In line with its open economic policy, incorporation of a domestic company is a simple process that can be completed within 3 working days by the Companies Division.

Residence permits and work permits
Residence permits and work permits for foreign investors, entrepreneurs, and professionals have been combined into single Occupation Permits, which are processed without delay.

The Residence Permits for Retired Non-Citizens scheme allows an eligible retired person to reside in Mauritius for three years.

Fiscal Regime
Mauritius offers a low tax jurisdiction and an investor-friendly environment to encourage local and foreign companies to set up a business.

Fiscal advantages include:
  • Competitive corporate and income taxes set at 15%
  • No withholding tax on interest and dividends
  • 100% foreign ownership
  • Exemption from customs duty on equipment
  • Free repatriation of profits, dividends and capital
  • No minimum foreign capital required
  • No withholding tax on royalties.
